Whether you are flying solo or have found your forever person, this statement is true! This language comes straight out of the latest blog {link in bio} and is very near and dear to me. As a single person, I often say that 95% of the time I'm completely comfortable in my singleness. In fact, I think it is a season that ought to be valued and celebrated more in society, rather than something that is seen as a 'waiting room' to something more. God has real and effectual kingdom purposes and plans for single people! That said, I'll admit there are moments where singleness can feel a lot like loneliness. I was having one of these moments last year as I sat on a plane waiting for take-off. I saw this cute couple snuggled together in their seats and I felt that little pang in my heart. That's when God spoke this straight to me - "I know your heart. I know it well." This gentle whisper from the Father that loves me more than anyone ever could reminded me that He knows my heart and its desires and His love for me is the Greatest love I'll ever know! I get to spend a lifetime exploring its depths, being forever amazed at its measure and resting in the knowledge that it is completely unfathomable. God and love are one. God is love. Love is God. They can't be separated because they are one in the same. To know God is to know love. So I choose to make that my mission: to seek to know Him more and more everyday for the rest of my life. And to know that His love is the greatest, strongest, most pure, perfect, unconditional and sacrificial love I'll ever know. Irrespective of your relationship status this Valentine's Day, my encouragement for you is this - the GREATEST love you could ever experience is freely available to you right where you are, right now ♥️ #saltandgrace . . . . . . #god #godsplan #godslove #godstiming #jesuschrist #jesus #jesuscalling #jesuslovesyou #jesuslovesme #godslove #godsloveneverfails #holyspirit #biblejournaling #bibleverse #biblequotes #biblestudy #verseoftheday #verse #love #lovequotes #valentinesday2019
SALT & GRACE BLOG 16 💖 ~ I recently came across a song that referred to the gospel as "the simple gospel." At first, I'll admit, that language didn't sit well with me. It felt like a gross over-simplification! At the same time God was taking me on this wild ride through 1 John 3 and 4, teaching me about the nature of His great love and how it operates in and through us. That's when it clicked - the gospel is, at its core, simple. God wants the world to know His great love for them. And you and I have a critical part to play. That is why God tells us to love one another. He makes this possible for us to do by taking up residence in our hearts when we confess Him as our Lord. But here's the really fun part - God is love (read the blog for loads of scriptural proof); so when God takes up residence in our hearts, so too does love. God, the original, purest, most powerful and potent source of love, lives in us! In this new blog {link in bio} I expand on this thought, how we access this great source of love that is living in us and what it has to do with God's master love plan for the earth. My favourite line in this latest blog is this: "...the original source of love is living in you. When you tap into God and His love, you’ll never run dry...Then we can get on with God’s business of loving this world to Him!" But you'll have to read to the end to find it 🙈 Be encouraged friend! God's great love lives in you and that truly is everything you need! 🔥 #saltandgrace . . . . . . #god #godslove #godsloveneverfails #godisgood #jesuschrist #jesus #jesusloves #holyspirit #biblejournaling #bibleverse #bible #biblestudy #biblequotes #verseoftheday #lovequotes #love #christ #christian #writer #writerscommunity #write #writing
PREVIEW: SALT & GRACE BLOG 15 🔥 ~ This week on Salt & Grace we're taking a deep dive into God's LOVE. The fact that we're rounding the corner to Valentine's Day is purely coincidental 🙈 I love every revelation that God gives me, but I especially love it when He reveals more about the nature of His love. This time around God has taken me on a wild ride through the bible to dig all the way to love's point of origin and what this means for us when it comes to living out that all important commandment from God to love people. Here's a sneak peak of 'The Original'... ~ "God is love. When we confess Jesus as the Son of God, God takes up residence in our hearts (1 John 14:15-16). Therefore, we have the purest, strongest, richest and most abundant source of love living directly within us. Its measure is infinite. This means that if you feel like you are running low on love or loving others is proving too hard, you’re tapping into the wrong love source. Your tapping into your filtered, washed down, diluted version of love. And that, my friend, is finite! It means you are trying to fulfil the command of God our of your own strength and supply and trust me, that has it limits. You’ll reach the bottom of that barrel quickly. BUT there is an original source of love living in you. When you tap into God and His love, you’ll never run dry!" ~ Full blog lands this week. #saltandgrace . . . . . #god #godisgood #godsplan #love #jesus #jesuschrist #jesusculture #holyspirit #holy #encouragement #bible #bibleverse #biblejournaling #biblestudy #verseoftheday #christianity #writing #writingcommunity #writers #lovequotes #godslove #godsloveneverfails
SALT & GRACE BLOG 15 🕯 ~ Life can have its moments can't it. Some of these moments can range from overactive butterflies in our stomach and hard days through to trial seasons that seem to have no end and circumstances that can take us to the very edge of ourselves. Across the full breadth of the spectrum, any form of encouragement is welcome. But what do we do and where can we turn if the external encouragement is light-on or non-existent? Even though God does ask us to be great encourages and champions of one another, He has also wired and equipped us with the means to encourage ourselves, in Him! Seems strange doesn't it. Strange but true! Just look at David in 1 Samuel chapter 30. When his circumstance seemed impossible and quitting was the easiest route, he instead chose to "encourage himself in the Lord his God." It's a choice, yes. And it's by no means the easy or natural one for many of us. But God has made a way for us to encourage ourselves IN HIM. As I explored what this means and looks like in action, I noticed that my reliance for encouragement shifted off the people in my world and onto God and my relationship with Him. It was releasing and it encouraged my spirit in a new way. My prayer is that this blog may lead you to the bible to uncover this truth for yourself ✨ #saltandgrace . . . . . . #god #godisgood #jesus #jesuschrist #holyspirit #holy #biblejournaling #bibleverse #biblestudy #biblequotes #bible #verseoftheday #encouragement #jesusculture #inspirationalquotes #inspiration #christian #life #writing #writingcommunity #writerscommunity #write #writer
PREVIEW: SALT & GRACE BLOG 15 ☂️ ~ I'm pretty sure it's safe for me to say that we all welcome encouragement in its various shapes and forms. Even more so when life gets a little tough, when things seem to be stacking up against us, when relationships get a little shaky, when we're having a hard day, when we feel unnoticed or when our hearts hurt. That's when an encouraging word is oh so welcome. Someone who understood this all too well was David. He found himself in countless situations where he could have used some encouragement. But in one particular situation, David found himself completely alone and exposed. But look what he did - "But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God." (1 Samuel 30:6) Say what?! We can encourage ourselves? This first blog for 2019 dives into what this response of David's looks like in practice for you and me today. Here's a sneak peak... ~ "I’m not saying that it’s easy or simple; I’m not saying that it’s necessarily our natural flesh response under trying conditions that pinch us, stretch us and drive us to the edge. But what I am hoping to show you, through David’s example, is that praise works, and while you may not feel like doing it, it is worth it. It is a powerful tool that elevates God in our lives and lays our problems, trials, worries, anxieties and heartache at His feet." ~ Full blog lands this week ✨ #saltandgrace . . . . . . #god #godisgood #godsplan #jesus #jesuschrist #jesusculture #holyspirit #holy #praise #worship #encouragement #encouragingquotes #bible #bibleverse #biblejournaling #biblestudy #verseoftheday #christianity #writing #writingcommunity #writer
SALT & GRACE BLOG 14: PART 2 🌻 ~ This week on the blog we jump straight back into the story of David and his time between anointment as king and his appointment to that position. This extended season for David prepared and positioned him for kingship 👑 While the monarchies of the world are fewer now, God led me to the gold as I studied the chapters between 1 Samuel 16 and 19. I believe, like David, we can find ourselves in these 'middle' seasons time and time again throughout life as we continue to dream bigger, contribute more and pioneer further. Through David's early story, God reminded me of the beauty and hope that awaits us in these middle seasons when we trust Him; really truly trust Him, like David did. My prayer is that through these words, God will encourage your heart and remind you of the purpose, promise and potential that lies in your here and now 🙏🏻 ~ Follow the link in the bio for Part 2 #saltandgrace . . . . . . #god #godisgood #jesus #jesuschrist #holyspirit #christianity #christianliving #bibleverse #biblejournaling #biblestudy #bible #biblequotes #bibleverses #verseoftheday #writing #writingcommunity #purpose #godsplan
